Context

Our Asia System Engineering Centre is a hub of railway systems expertise, dedicated to delivering exceptional projects both within Asia and on an international scale. As a key Centre of Competency for the SYSTRA Group, we pride ourselves on our ability to manage and support diverse projects across the globe. We are currently seeking an experienced System Engineer to join our team, contributing to our growth and enhancing our technical capabilities.

Missions/Main Duties

Within Asia’s Railway System Engineering Center, acts as a rail system expert in on-site supervision of contractor’s activities in manufacturing, installation, testing & commissioning phases of SYSTRA’s domestic and international projects in the field of Rail Systems and/or Rolling Stock.

May also act as Verification & Validation engineer in back-office for system-wide or rolling stock-dedicated projects, with the objective of contributing to or ensuring that requirement management and change control processes are satisfactorily implemented to justify compliance with contract requirements.

 

Project Delivery

  • Supervision: Provide assistance to the Client during the Procurement execution by performing design reviews, interface management, inspections during fabrication (including quality assurance/quality control), testing & commissioning (over both factory and on-site tests).
  • Safety: Monitor safety aspects and alert on any subject related to technical or personal safety.

Internal and External Relationships:

  • Maintains direct contact with the client for on-site related topics, ensures client satisfaction and proactive follow-up
  • Interacts with other departments within the organization as well as with clients and suppliers in a professional way.
  • Fosters effective teamwork within SYSTRA project teams in Asia and overseas.

Profile/Skills

Education: A bachelor engineering degree, preferably in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering, is the minimum requirement for this position.

Years of experience: Minimum of 4 years of working experience.

Technical competencies:

  • Experience with rolling stock or systems projects
  • Experience in rolling stock integration with other systems and infrastructure is a plus
  • Experience in rolling stock refurbishment, overhaul or maintenance is a plus

Personal & soft skills:   

  • English – International Professional Proficiency
  • Must be proficient at writing clear technical reports in English.
  • Must be willing to work on-site during engineering hours for the duration of the project.
  • Must have aptitudes for teamwork on multidisciplinary projects.
  • Must be able to work independently, sometimes under pressure to meet deadlines.
