Remuneration: To be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, qualifications, certifications, competencies and other relevant criteria.

Missions/Main Duties

As a Tekla Modeling Technician, you will play a key role in 3D modeling, clash detection, parameterization, export, and model federation. You will primarily work in Tekla Structures, interacting with AutoCAD and MicroStation for interface integration, and ensure that models are developed in accordance with the project’s applicable construction drawings. You will work closely with engineers and technicians.

  • Model steel and concrete bridge components in 3D using Tekla Structures, in accordance with project standards and requirements.
  • Generate and export general and detail drawings, parts lists, bill of materials, and CNC/IFC files from Tekla, and ensure compliance with the clearances and dimensions specified in the contract requirements.
  • Coordinate the integration of interfaces with road geometry, supports, equipment, and related disciplines, using references from AutoCAD/MicroStation.
  • Set up and maintain object libraries, templates, attributes, and Tekla procedures to ensure consistency, quality, and reusability.
  • Perform quality checks on models and drawings (conflict detection, compliance with specifications and design data, verification of tolerances and assemblies).
  • Interact with representatives of the modeling teams from project partners.
  • Determine and validate the geometry of a structure relative to an alignment and profile.
  • Other related duties.

Profile/Skills

Education:

  • A college degree (DEC) in civil engineering or a related field is preferred. Certification in Tekla Structures is a plus.

Years of experience:

  • Approximately 5 years of relevant modeling experience, with a focus on Tekla.
  • Relevant experience in bridge engineering is a plus.

Technical competencies:

  • Proficiency in Tekla.
  • Knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD or MicroStation.
  • Understanding of applicable standards and technical requirements; willingness to learn about bridge design specifications.

Personal & soft skills:  

  • Rigorous, detail-oriented, and able to work in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Willing to learn and adapt to new technologies and work methods.
  • Adapts and responds well to changing priorities and requirements.

*In addition to French, this position requires functional knowledge of another language, namely English, as you will collaborate with a variety of colleagues and clients, some of whom are located outside Quebec (Canada, United States).
