SYSTRA Consulting, Inc. seeks a Sr. Overhead Catenary Systems Engineer (OCS) in Sacramento, CA.

Context

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field plus 10 years of experience.

Missions/Main Duties

Duties: Build strong and effective customer relationships. Utilize keen sense of urgency, attention to detail and experience by partnering with high-performing internal and external teams on designing, testing and commissioning OCS systems on electrified railroad projects. Use project management skillset to set project scope, schedules, budgets and reporting. Serve as a thought partner, subject matter expert and trusted advisor to peers, clients and the business. Lead other engineers, designers and drafters while owning overall responsibility for project quality, execution and client interface. Utilize strong understanding of best-in-class processes for building, implementing and operationalizing an engineering function in a high-growth environment. Use experience as a collaborative leader in a distributed, multi-location environment to help drive project impact without face-to-face interaction. Prepare design drawings, calculations, specifications and bill of materials for electrified railway OCS design projects, in accordance with railway and industry standards. Participate in client meetings, review contractor submittals and participate during presentations to clients.

Profile/Skills

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field plus 10 years of experience.

 

Requires 10 years of experience with:

  • OCS High Speed Rail experience.
  • Ability to prepare catenary layout plans and cross sections, structural erection diagrams and catenary profiles related to High-Speed Rail projects.
  • Knowledge of engineering computations and structural analysis associated with railway overhead contact systems.
  • Knowledge of industry standards associated with railway design and operation related to High Speed Rail OCS.
  • Technical writing, verbal communications, and interpersonal skills.
  • Work collaboratively with other interfacing multi-disciplinary team members.

Must be able to perform site investigations and walkdowns along electrified tracks.
