Context

Missions/Main Duties

Section Engineer - Third Rail & Power Supply

 

  • Supervise installation, alignment, and testing of Third Rail, cover boards, expansion joints, and support insulators
  • Ensure work as per RDSO/Metro standards, drawings, and approved method statements
  • Monitor erection of 25kV/33kV cables, OHE/TSS interface, switchgear, LT panels, and traction power distribution at Depot/Station
  • Coordinate with TSS/RSS and SCADA teams for energization activities
  • Witness T&C of Third Rail system including insulation testing, continuity, clearance checks
  • Support in trial runs and integration with train operations
  • Ensure compliance with Metro safety norms, electrical safety rules, and lock-out tag-out procedures
  • Conduct site inspections and ensure proper PPE, barricading, and signage
  • Liaise with Client, PMC, traction contractor and other agencies
  • Maintain daily progress reports, material reconciliation, test reports, as-built drawings, and measurement books
  • Prepare RA bills and technical correspondence
  • Guide technicians and supervisors. Conduct toolbox talks and safety inductions
