Context

The Financial Accountant is responsible for the preparation, validation and oversight of all statutory accounting & reporting, and group reporting requirements for the SYSTRA ANZ Group.

Missions/Main Duties

Main Tasks:

Statutory

  • Assist with preparation of year end statutory accounts in all countries of operation and ensure it is compliant with SYSTRA ANZ rules and requirements.
  • Liaison with external auditors and prepare work papers for year-end audit.

Tax

  • Support preparation and lodgment of all tax submissions in all countries of operation once approved by the FC.
  • Maintain adequate records to support tax return submissions including referencing of all supporting documentation and orderly electronic and paper filing.
  • Record all tax related accounting entries.
  • Identify and investigate all applicable changes in laws, regulations and standards and implement changes as required.

Finance & Accounting

  • Lead the month end closing process including balance sheet, general ledger, reconciliations and P&L review.
  • Prepare monthly accruals, prepayment and inter entities recharges entries with supporting calculations.
  • Manage the monthly intercompany reconciliations and group submissions.
  • Ensure Inter-co group tool is prepared monthly for month end (JEX Accordance)
  • Overheads review before monthly group submission.
  • Fixed asset management and depreciation.
  • Prepare and enter monthly group reporting into group reporting Tool (SAP Magnitude)
  • Clear blocking controls and fill in detailed schedules in group reporting Tool (SAP Magnitude)
  • Prepare monthly flat file for Branch financials to send to group
  • Validate and reconcile monthly Branch P&L with group and assist with preparation of monthly management performance reports.
  • Manage internal financial controls requirements of the SYSTRA ANZ Group.
  • Maintain IFRS16 leasing schedules and IFRS 15 revenue from contract with customers.
  • Support the preparation of the quarterly reforecast and annual budget.
  • Enter Reforecasts and Budget in group reporting tools (SAP Magnitude / JEX Accordance)
  • Assisting in the project financial preparation.
  • Process improvement and automation.
  • Any ad-hoc duties and analysis as required

General

  • Participate in ad-hoc projects as required to support the CFO and business objectives.
  • Assist the FC and coordinate the team for efficient statutory and group deliveries.
  • Develop strong relationships within SYSTRA ANZ and wider SYSTRA Group, external auditors, and other key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain a high level of technical knowledge and awareness of regulatory changes.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial, taxation, HSSE and HR related laws, rules and regulations.

Profile/Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • CA/CPA equivalent qualification (Accounting certification or tertiary degree)
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in commercial business or finance shared services environment
  • Strong technical statutory, accounting and tax skills.
  • Experience in Financial planning and reporting, international group reporting and consolidation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, good interpersonal skills, adaptable
  • Analytical, problem solving, reactive to challenges
  • Proficient in computer software applications (Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, PowerBI) / interest in AI improvements
  • Experience in Business Systems (ERP: Xero, MS Dynamics), SAP Magnitude, Jex Accordance.
