Context

Due to the growth of our pipeline in Ireland, SYSTRA are looking for a Director to drive our business within the Water sector.

 

The purpose of the role is to support delivery of the strategy for the relevant business area by leading on winning and successfully delivering project work in the Water sector for Ireland; developing the capabilities of our colleagues to support continuously improve the breadth, quality and flexibility of services we offer to our clients; and contributing positively and proactively to the continuous improvement of internal structures and processes which best serve the needs of our business and our clients.

 

The Director (Water – Ireland) will focus primarily on the Ireland market but work collaboratively across locations. teams and projects as necessary for the delivery of our overall business strategy.

Missions/Main Duties

  • Business Development: Lead on identifying and maximising opportunities for securing future work for your business area though identification of suitable bid & proposal opportunities, cross-selling and up-selling.
  • Bids and Proposals: Lead on successful high value bids and proposals (>£400k/€400k) by ensuring that the SYSTRA bid team are clear on the client acceptance criteria, that our solution is fully aligned to client requirements, that pricing and invoicing milestones are appropriate; providing technical input to bids relevant to your area(s) of expertise.
  • Project Director: Lead on large projects/packages of work (>£400k/€400k), ensuring that client objectives are understood and that projects deliver on agreed objectives, on time and within budget and in accordance with legal and contractual requirements and internal procedures.
  • Accountability for the delivery and/or financial management of a significant portfolio of work aligned to SYSTRA’s current or future markets.
  • Technical Leadership: Proactively sharing technical knowledge internally and support colleagues in developing technical knowledge in your area of expertise; Writing/contributing to articles/papers and presenting at industry events relevant to your area(s) of expertise to promote SYSTRA capabilities and support the development of best practice.
  • Lead a team/sector, or undertake a leadership role in a local office, role modelling expected behaviours and providing support and guidance to people managers within the team/sector/office.
  • Lead on ensuring that internal and external processes and procedure applicable to your business area are understood and adhered to.
  • Proactively manage backlog and workflow for your team or sector.
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with clients, business partners, suppliers and colleagues in support of the above.

 

Profile/Skills

  • Substantial track record of effective Sales, bid management and project delivery, ideally in the Water sector in Ireland.
  • Substantial experience of managing a portfolio of client relationships
  • Commercial and contract management awareness
  • Previous exposure to both occupational and technical safety on projects
  • Substantial experience of building and maintaining effective collaborative working relationships
  • Relevant degree or equivalent
  • Relevant chartership or professional qualification
