This role contributes across design development and documentation phases, including preparation of general arrangement drawings, reinforcement detailing, and BIM coordination for bridge projects. Responsibilities include translating engineering concepts into accurate technical drawings while maintaining compliance with drafting standards, quality control procedures, and client specifications within Ontario’s transportation infrastructure environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed 2D drawings and 3D models for bridge structures using CAD and BIM tools in accordance with design specifications.
Develop general arrangement drawings, reinforcement detailing, and construction documentation aligned with structural design requirements.
Interpret engineering sketches, design mark-ups, and technical inputs to produce accurate drafting outputs.
Ensure compliance with drafting standards, QA/QC procedures, and client-specific documentation requirements.
Maintain drawing revision control, document tracking, and version management for all project deliverables.
Collaborate with engineers and multidisciplinary teams for design coordination and model integration within BIM environments.
Support quantity take-offs and contribute to design presentation materials for project delivery stages.
Participate in project coordination meetings and provide technical drafting input related to structural design execution.
Provide drafting support for bridge transportation projects while aligning with applicable client and regional standards.
Coordinate with distributed design teams across Ontario to ensure consistency in drawing production and project delivery.

The reference salary range for this role would be $65,000 - $85,000 CAD / Annually
